Mentor
Work directly with Ninjas and help them learn using project guides. We have guides written for beginners and a room plan. Many mentors learn alongside the Ninjas.
Every room needs a mentor. If you can sit beside a curious eleven-year-old, read a project guide aloud and ask “what do you think it should do next?”, you can mentor. Ninety minutes on a Saturday morning during term.

Requires some experience
Take responsibility for one room's plan for the morning and for the mentors in it. Suits someone who has mentored a term or two.
Coordinating, communication, safeguarding...
No coding at all. Sign Ninjas in, set out tables, count heads, keep the registration list straight, answer parents' questions at the door. Or help with the things that happen Sunday to Friday: the schedule, the venue, email, social media, photos.
There is a lot of freedom to plan and adapt to the needs of the room but we also have lots of proven step-by-step tutorials and development plans. Below you’ll find some links to resources we draw from. Just take a quick glance at a project plan from our project library and you are already way ahead of the Ninjas in the room.
Every adult volunteering with young people at the Dojo is vetted through the National Vetting Bureau. We start the process for you and it costs you nothing.
Ninety minutes a week during school term, plus about fifteen minutes’ setup. Some mentors come every week, some once a month. Tell us what you can do and we’ll build the rota around it.
